Members
of
UA Local 441 do more than construct our buildings; they leave their
jobs and spend thousands of hours a year helping those who need
their help.
They are dedicated to giving back to their communities through projects
such as the following:
Heats On
This annual program, sponsored by UA Local 441, recruits multiple
volunteers to service furnaces, light the pilots and winterize
air conditioners for low-income senior citizens and disabled individuals.
In some cases
where heating equipment is inoperable, they actually replace it
with a new furnace free of charge to the client.
His Helping Hands
Members of UA Local 441 and the Mechanical & Sheet Metal Contractors
Association jointly donated labor to support this non-denominational
ministry building project. They helped to build a 27,000 square foot
facility to
collect, store and distribute donated second hand clothing, furniture,
appliances and other items. This new facility has a walk-in freezer
for food storage
and shower and laundry facilities for the homeless. Helping over
100 families weekly, this new facility is just one example of the
commitment that members of Local 441 have to helping those in their
communities.
